Practice

Dan is a senior partner who has been in practice for nearly thirty years, concentrating on estate planning, estate administration and probate, and corporate and commercial law.

As an accomplished estate planner, Dan assists his clients in designing and executing sophisticated estate plans tailored to protect their families and insulate their assets from unnecessary estate and gift tax exposure. He also guides executors and families through the often-emotional process of estate administration with clarity and care.

On the business side, Dan serves as outside general counsel to a wide range of closely-held companies. His work spans corporate structuring, acquisitions, commercial negotiation, contract drafting, and commercial leasing. When litigation is unavoidable, Dan has appeared on behalf of his clients in the highest courts of New York.

Background

Dan began his career at the Law Department of the City of New York, serving in the Office of the Corporation Counsel and the Mayor's Office. He then joined Lester Schwab Katz & Dwyer, LLP and later Harris Beach LLP, practicing in products liability, pharmaceutical litigation, medical malpractice defense, mass tort litigation, and general liability.

Seeking a more commercial and corporate-focused practice, Dan joined Sieratzki, Ceccarelli & Weprin, LLP — a commercial and corporate boutique led by Assemblyman David Weprin — where he developed expertise in general corporate law, commercial litigation, and real estate.

In 2003, drawn to the closer client relationships that private practice makes possible, Dan founded the firm that became Daniel B. Faizakoff P.C. He has been serving families and businesses in that capacity ever since.

Community

Dan is actively involved in the organizational development and pro bono legal work of Manhattan Jewish Experience and is a former Junior Committee member of Project Sunshine, a nonprofit providing free programming to children facing medical challenges and their families. Outside of the office, Dan is an avid world traveler and a certified rescue SCUBA diver.
